Merry & Found is a gift-discovery and recommendation website. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle information when you visit merryandfound.com, use the Gift Finder, or follow a product link from our site.

By using the site, you acknowledge the practices described here. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use the site.

Who We Are

Information We Collect

We do not currently offer a newsletter, account registration, checkout, contact form, or other form through which we ask you to submit your name, email address, mailing address, payment information, or similar contact details.

We may collect information automatically when you use the site. Depending on the browser, device, and services involved, this can include:

• Pages viewed, links clicked, referring page, date and time of visit, and general interaction information;
• Browser, device, operating-system, and language information;
• Online identifiers, such as cookie or similar technology identifiers; and
• Approximate location inferred from an IP address or similar technical information.

We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, account credentials, payment information, health information, precise location, or other sensitive personal information to Google Analytics.

We Are Not the Retailer

Merry & Found recommends products for gifting. We do not sell products, accept payment, process orders, ship items, fulfill returns, or provide retailer customer service for products featured on the site. When you select a product link and choose to make a purchase, the transaction is handled by the retailer or affiliate partner that operates the destination website. That retailer—not Merry & Found—determines its checkout, payment, shipping, returns, customer-service, and privacy practices.

Gift Finder Selections

The Gift Finder does not ask you to create an account or provide your name, email, age, address, or other contact details. Its selections are designed to remain in your browser. If you choose to share a Finder result, the selected options may appear in the shared URL.

The site does not intentionally include Gift Finder URL-hash selections in Google Analytics page-location data.

How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

• Operate, secure, and improve Merry & Found;
• Understand which pages, guides, Finder paths, and product links are useful;
• Measure site traffic and affiliate-link performance;
• Diagnose technical issues and prevent misuse; and
• Comply with applicable legal obligations.

Analytics and Cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to track website performance, understand how visitors use the site, and guide site improvements. This includes pages viewed and interactions such as link clicks. GA4 currently loads when the site is visited and uses cookies or similar technologies, including the _ga and _ga_QFPHF7BHYK cookies, to distinguish browsers and preserve analytics session state. These identifiers are pseudonymous; they help produce aggregate reporting but are not the same as information that is fully anonymous.

You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Blocking or deleting cookies may affect some site features or how analytics is measured. You can also learn more about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services.

We do not currently use a newsletter or a contact form. If we add either, we will update this Privacy Policy before collecting information through it.

Affiliate Links and Third Parties

Merry & Found participates in affiliate programs, including the Amazon Associates Program. When you select an affiliate link, you leave our site and go to the retailer’s website. The retailer may collect information about you under its own privacy policy, and the link may contain an affiliate-tracking identifier that allows the retailer to attribute a qualifying purchase to Merry & Found.

We do not control the privacy practices of Amazon or any other third-party destination. Please review the privacy policy of a retailer before providing information or completing a purchase.

We may disclose information to service providers that help operate or analyze the site, including Google Analytics, and when required by law or necessary to protect the site, our users, or others.

Data Retention

We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including analytics, security, recordkeeping, and legal compliance.

Your Choices and Privacy Rights

You can control certain cookies through browser settings and can choose not to follow affiliate links.

Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is no common industry standard for responding to that setting, Merry & Found does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals.

Depending on where you live and which laws apply, you may have rights to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or information about personal information we hold about you. You may also have rights to opt out of certain uses or disclosures of personal information.
